CM approved the establishment of Media Colony in Journalism

The chief minister of Pakistan, Mr. Mahmood Khan has recently made an announcement in which he has told that the approval to the establishment of a Media Colony for journalists has been given and the colony will be set up in Peshawar Model Town.

It will be a one-time special grant of about Rs 20 million for Peshawar Press Club (PPC), and there will be a 100 percent increase in the seed money of the Journalist Welfare Endowment Fund. He made all these announcements in the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected officers of PPC.

The officials present at the occasion were: Special Assistant to CM on Information, Kamran Bangash, Speaker Provincial Assembly, Mushtaq Ghani, Secretary Information Arshad Khan, General Secretary, Imran Bukhari, newly elected president of PPC, M. Riaz, and some other journalists.

Chief Minister said that the government of KP knows all the problems faced by the journalist community, that is why these steps are taken to facilitate them as much as possible and to resolve their issues.

He said that media is the fourth pillar of the state and the journalists are their assets as they play a vital role in promoting public welfare initiatives of the government. He further said that hopefully, Prime Minister Imran Khan will become part of the inauguration ceremony of this mega project.

پشاور: وزیراعلیٰ محمود خان نے صحافیوں کے لئے میڈیا کالونی کے قیام کی منظوری دیتے ہوئے اس کا اعلان کردیا۔

وزیر اعلیٰ پاکستان جناب محمود خان نے حال ہی میں ایک اعلان کیا ہے جس میں انہوں نے بتایا ہے کہ صحافیوں کے لئے میڈیا کالونی کے قیام کی منظوری دے دی گئی ہے اور کالونی پشاور ماڈل ٹاؤن میں قائم کی جائے گی۔

یہ پشاور پریس کلب (پی پی سی) کے لئے ایک وقت کے لئے تقریبا 20 20 ملین روپے کی خصوصی گرانٹ ہوگی ، اور جرنلسٹ ویلفیئر انڈوومنٹ فنڈ کے بیجوں کی رقم میں 100 فیصد اضافہ ہوگا۔ انہوں نے یہ تمام اعلانات پی پی سی کے نومنتخب افسران کی حلف برداری تقریب میں کیں۔

اس موقع پر موجود عہدیدار یہ تھے: وزیر اطلاعات کے معاون خصوصی ، کامران بنگش ، اسپیکر صوبائی اسمبلی ، مشتاق غنی ، سیکرٹری اطلاعات ارشاد خان ، جنرل سکریٹری ، عمران بخاری ، پی پی سی کے نو منتخب صدر ، ایم ریاض ، اور کچھ دیگر صحافی۔

وزیر اعلی نے کہا کہ کے پی کی حکومت صحافی برادری کو درپیش تمام پریشانیوں کو جانتی ہے ، اسی لئے ان اقدامات کو زیادہ سے زیادہ سہولت فراہم کرنے اور ان کے مسائل حل کرنے کے لئے اٹھایا گیا ہے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ میڈیا ریاست کا چوتھا ستون ہے اور صحافی ان کے اثاثے ہیں کیونکہ وہ حکومت کے عوامی فلاح و بہبود کے اقدامات کو فروغ دینے میں اہم کردار ادا کرتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ امید ہے کہ وزیر اعظم عمران خان اس میگا پروجیکٹ کی افتتاحی تقریب کا حصہ بنیں گے۔
