CDA announces development progress in industrial areas

ISLAMABAD: President Institute of Chamber and Commerce Industry ICCI said that the CDA Board in its meeting held in August 2020 had recommended the rationalization of lease extension fee for industrial plots at Rs100,000 per Kanal, but the decision was not implemented as yet due to which industrial growth and expansion were facing problems since investors were uncertain about the outcome of the policy.

A panel of local industrialists and trade representatives led by Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) held a meeting with Amir Ali Ahmed, Chairman CDA, and apprised him of the key issues of industrial areas in Islamabad along with other development issues in the federal capital, says a press release.

Abdul Rehman Khan Vice President ICCI, Fatima Azim Senior Vice President, Muhammad Ahmed former President ICCI, Abdul Rauf Alam, Convener ICCI CDA Committee, MianAkram Farid Chairman Founder Group, Tariq Sadiq President Islamabad Industrial Association, and OmaisKhattak Executive Board Member ICCI were part of the delegation. Syed Munawar Shah Member Engineering and Faisal Naeem Director (Technical) were also present in the meeting.

He urged that CDA should approach the National Coordination Committee on Housing, Construction & Development (NCCHCD) for endorsement of this decision so that it could be implemented to facilitate the lease renewals of industrial plots.

Ms. Fatima Azim Senior Vice President, Abdul Rehman Khan Vice President ICCI, MianAkram Farid Chairman Founder Group, Tariq Sadiq President Islamabad Industrial Association, and Muhammad Ahmed former President ICCI said that during Covid-19, SBP had launched refinance schemes for industries at low credit cost, but without lease renewal of industrial plots, banks were not extending these schemes to industries.

Addressing the ICCI delegation, Amir Ali Ahmed, Chairman CDA assured that development works in I-9 and I-10 industrial would be started before Ramadan that would address the highlighted issues. He said that he would write a letter to NCCHCD for early endorsement of the CDA Board decision regarding lease renewals of industrial plots.

He said that plots for parking plazas have been identified in Blue Area, F-10 Markaz, and other markets and CDA would soon auction them for construction of parking plazas in markets. He said that CDA has allocated a budget of Rs375 million for the development of Kahuta Industrial Triangle and development works would be started in April this year.

In addition to this, he confirmed the allocation of plots for a dispensary and mosque in the industrial areas and assured that base work has already been done while carpeting and concreting of roads in the industrial areas would be done in the coming days.

 He moreover stated that CDA is aimed to construct 300 public toilets in markets and would hand over them to ICCI for their maintenance and operation in coordination with concerned market associations. He said that the PWD underpass and Koral bridge projects would be completed by September this year. He also said that the Margalla bypass project and carpeting of IGP road would also be started soon.

He stated that a ring road from Margalla via GT Road up to Murree Road would also be constructed to address the traffic issues of the twin cities.

اسلام آباد: صدر انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف چیمبر اینڈ کامرس انڈسٹری آئی سی سی آئی کا کہنا ہے کہ سی ڈی اے بورڈ نے اگست 2020 میں منعقدہ اپنے اجلاس میں صنعتی پلاٹوں کے لئے لیز میں توسیع کی فیس کو ایک لاکھ روپے فی کنال کی منظوری دینے کی سفارش کی تھی ، لیکن ابھی تک اس فیصلے پر عمل درآمد نہیں ہو سکا۔ جس صنعتی نمو اور توسیع کو دشواریوں کا سامنا کرنا پڑ رہا تھا چونکہ سرمایہ کاروں کو پالیسی کے نتائج کے بارے میں غیر یقینی تھا۔

اسلام آباد چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری (آئی سی سی آئی) کے صدر سردار یاسر الیاس خان کی سربراہی میں مقامی صنعتکاروں اور تجارتی نمائندوں کے پینل نے چیئرمین سی ڈی اے امیر علی احمد سے ملاقات کی اور انہیں اسلام آباد میں صنعتی علاقوں کے اہم امور سے آگاہ کیا۔ وفاقی دارالحکومت میں دیگر ترقیاتی امور ، ایک پریس ریلیز میں کہا گیا ہے۔

انہوں نے زور دے کر کہا کہ سی ڈی اے کو اس فیصلے کی توثیق کے لئے ہاؤسنگ ، تعمیر و ترقی کی قومی رابطہ کمیٹی (این سی سی سی ڈی) سے رجوع کرنا چاہئے تاکہ صنعتی پلاٹوں کی لیز کی تجدید نو کی سہولت کے لئے اس پر عمل درآمد کیا جاسکے۔

محترمہ فاطمہ عظیم سینئر نائب صدر ، عبد الرحمن خان نائب صدر آئی سی سی آئی ، میاں اکرم فرید چیئرمین بانی گروپ ، طارق صادق صدر اسلام آباد انڈسٹریل ایسوسی ایشن اور محمد احمد سابق صدر آئی سی سی آئی نے کہا کہ کوڈ 19 کے دوران اسٹیٹ بینک نے کم صنعتوں کے لئے ری فائنانس اسکیمیں شروع کیں کریڈٹ لاگت ، لیکن صنعتی پلاٹوں کی لیز کی تجدید کے بغیر ، بینک ان اسکیموں کو صنعتوں تک نہیں بڑھا رہے تھے۔

چیئرمین سی ڈی اے عامر علی احمد نے آئی سی سی آئی کے وفد سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے یقین دلایا کہ رمضان سے قبل آئی ۔9 اور آئی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ صنعتی پلاٹوں کی لیز کی تجدید نو کے سلسلے میں سی ڈی اے بورڈ کے فیصلے کی جلد توثیق کے لئے این سی سی ڈی سیڈ کو خط لکھیں گے۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ پارکنگ پلازوں کے پلاٹوں کی نشاندہی بلیو ایریا ، ایف ۔10 مارکاز اور دیگر مارکیٹوں میں کی گئی ہے اور سی ڈی اے جلد ہی انہیں بازاروں میں پارکنگ پلازوں کی تعمیر کے لئے نیلام کرے گا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ سی ڈی اے نے کہوٹہ صنعتی مثلث کی ترقی کے لئے 3 کروڑ 75 لاکھ روپے کا بجٹ مختص کیا ہے اور رواں سال اپریل میں ترقیاتی کام شروع کردیئے جائیں گے۔

اس کے علاوہ انہوں نے صنعتی علاقوں میں ایک ڈسپنسری اور مسجد کے لئے پلاٹوں کے مختص کرنے کی تصدیق کی اور یقین دہانی کرائی کہ صنعتی علاقوں میں سڑکوں کی قالین سازی اور کانکریٹ کرنے کا کام آئندہ دنوں میں کردیا جائے گا۔

انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ سی ڈی اے کا مقصد مارکیٹوں میں 300 عوامی بیت الخلا تعمیر کرنا ہے اور وہ متعلقہ مارکیٹ ایسوسی ایشنوں کے ساتھ رابطے میں ان کی دیکھ بھال اور اس کے لئے انہیں آئی سی سی آئی کے حوالے کریں گے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پی ڈبلیو ڈی انڈر پاس اور کورال پل منصوبے رواں سال ستمبر تک مکمل ہوجائیں گے۔ انہوں نے یہ بھی کہا کہ مارگلہ بائی پاس پروجیکٹ اور آئی جی پی روڈ کی قالین سازی بھی جلد شروع کردی جائے گی۔

انہوں نے بتایا کہ جڑواں شہروں کے ٹریفک مسائل کو حل کرنے کیلئے مارگلہ سے جی ٹی روڈ تک مری روڈ تک رنگ روڈ بھی تعمیر کی جائے گی۔
