Cabinet directs to operationalize Islamabad Metro Bus Service on priority basis

The federal cabinet directed the interior and communication ministries to devise a plan to operationalize the Metro Bus service from Peshawar Morr to New International Islamabad Airport to facilitate the passengers travelling within the city.

The infrastructure work and installations of electromechanical components of the project were completed one year ago; however, the project could not be handed over to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) because of some formalities. The CDA believes that one of the major problems is the lack of buses. The CDA has proposed to use the surplus buses of Rawalpindi-Islamabad bus service for the use of Islamabad Metro bus project.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan has also taken the notice of delay in the operationalization of the project. He directed to take immediate measures to start the service to provide smooth bus ride to the passengers.

اسلام آباد: نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق وفاقی کابینہ نے وزارت داخلہ کو اسلام آباد میٹرو بس سروس کو ترجیحی بنیادوں پر چلانے کے لئے لائحہ عمل وضع کرنے کی ہدایت کی ہے۔

وفاقی کابینہ نے وزارت داخلہ اور مواصلات کی وزارتوں کو ہدایت کی ہے کہ وہ شہر کے اندر سفر کرنے والے مسافروں کی سہولت کے لئے پشاور مورڑ سے نیو انٹرنیشنل اسلام آباد ایئرپورٹ تک میٹرو بس سروس کو چلانے کے لئے منصوبہ تیار کرے۔

اس منصوبے کے الیکٹرو مکینیکل اجزاء کے بنیادی ڈھانچے کا کام اور تنصیبات ایک سال قبل مکمل ہوئیں۔ تاہم ، کچھ باقاعدگیوں کی وجہ سے اس منصوبے کو کیپیٹل ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (سی ڈی اے) کے حوالے نہیں کیا جاسکا۔ سی ڈی اے کا خیال ہے کہ ایک سب سے بڑی پریشانی بسوں کی کمی ہے۔ سی ڈی اے نے اسلام آباد میٹرو بس منصوبے کے استعمال کے لئے راولپنڈی ۔اسلام آباد بس سروس کی فاضل بسوں کو استعمال کرنے کی تجویز پیش کی ہے۔

اس سے قبل وزیر اعظم عمران خان بھی اس منصوبے کے چلانے میں تاخیر کا نوٹس لے چکے ہیں۔ انہوں نے مسافروں کو آسانی سے بس سواری کی فراہمی کے لئے سروس شروع کرنے کے لئے فوری اقدامات کرنے کی ہدایت کی۔
