Karachi: Recently, the Sindh Government has updated that they are planning the development and beautification of the city, Karachi. In this process, I.I. Chundrigar Road is under a plan to be renovated.
This beautification plan of I.I. Chundrigar Road has been planned from Shaheen Complex, stretching to the end of Tower. Currently, the Sindh Government is planning to collaborate with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Pakistan Banking Association (PBA), Pakistan Railways (PR) and all the other major organizations to help the Government in turning the city into a beautiful place to live in, free from land pollution.
In a recent meeting, this project was discussed with Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah; the Sindh Chief Secretary. During this session, a delegation of bankers that was headed by Ashraf Khan; the SBP Managing Director (MD) was present to discuss the future outcomes and the process and progress.
All the attendees were allowed to have an open discussion over all the salient features of the upcoming project with the Government of Sindh along with the planning authorities to brainstorm and collaborate with KMC (Karachi Metropolitan Corporation), KDA (Karachi Development Authority) and KWSB (Karachi Water & Sewerage Board) with other relevant authorities to facilitate the execution of the plan smoothly.
It is remarked by the Chief Secretary to plan and remark a feasibility study so that determination of the project’s operational expenses can be evaluated. It is important to estimate the budget for this plan along with overall expenses schedule and accumulation of funds contributed by the stakeholders in this decision. All the members present in the meeting ensured their full cooperation in this regard, helping the government in achieving their objective of making Karachi beautiful again.
The plan of making Karachi an attractive city again, renovation and beautification of I.I. Chundrigar Road is the first step.
