Balochistan government decides to set up a ‘Metal Park’

In order to take full advantage of its mineral resources, the Balochistan government has decided to set up a ‘Metal Park’ in the province.

Addressing a seminar in this regard, Chief Minister (CM) Balochistan Jamal Kamal Khan said that the province has immense mineral potential which would be tapped by the establishment of ‘Balochistan Metal Park.’

The project will change the destiny of Balochistan, creating employment opportunities for the citizens of the province, and contributing positively to the provincial and national economies.

During the last three years, the Balochistan government has approved several mineral development projects in the province such as mapping natural resources, an automated royalty system, a chemical testing laboratory, and a mineral complex, the CM recalled.

Chief Secretary (CS) Balochistan Mathar Niaz Rana said that modernization of the provincial mining industry is the need of the hour. Balochistan has more mineral wealth than any other province as it accounts for 50% of the national mineral resources.

However, its share in the national mineral production is only 5% due to limited data on geological resources and lack of mineral development processing units, the CS lamented.

اس حوالے سے ایک سیمینار سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے وزیراعلیٰ بلوچستان جمال کمال خان نے کہا کہ صوبے میں معدنیات کی بے پناہ صلاحیت ہے جسے بلوچستان میٹل پارک کے قیام سے استعمال کیا جائے گا۔

یہ منصوبہ بلوچستان کی تقدیر بدل دے گا ، صوبے کے شہریوں کے لیے روزگار کے مواقع پیدا کرے گا ، اور صوبائی اور قومی معیشتوں میں مثبت کردار ادا کرے گا۔

وزیراعلیٰ نے یاد دلایا کہ گزشتہ تین سالوں کے دوران بلوچستان حکومت نے صوبے میں کئی معدنی ترقیاتی منصوبوں کی منظوری دی ہے جیسے قدرتی وسائل کی نقشہ سازی ، خودکار رائلٹی سسٹم ، کیمیکل ٹیسٹنگ لیبارٹری اور منرل کمپلیکس۔

چیف سیکریٹری بلوچستان مطہر نیاز رانا نے کہا کہ صوبائی کان کنی کی صنعت کو جدید بنانا وقت کی ضرورت ہے۔ بلوچستان میں معدنیات کی دولت دوسرے صوبوں سے زیادہ ہے کیونکہ یہ قومی معدنی وسائل کا 50 فیصد ہے۔

تاہم ، قومی معدنی پیداوار میں اس کا حصہ صرف 5 فیصد ہے کیونکہ جغرافیائی وسائل پر محدود اعداد و شمار اور معدنی ترقیاتی پروسیسنگ یونٹس کی کمی ہے۔
