10 Billion Tree Tsunami – The Forest Department is Offering Free Saplings

Rawalakot: During the spring plantation drive, the Forest Department of Pakistan has declared that they will be providing free sapling chance to all the public as well as the educational institutes. This plantation drive is part of Prime Minister’s 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Campaign.

Through a press release issued by Sardar Muhammad Raffique Khan; the Forest Department Divisional Forest Officer, the department shared free sapling news. In addition to this free sapling in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, the Forest Department will also be providing complete technical assistance. Pakistan Armed Forces, educational institutions and all the government offices are going to be provided with this free sapling and technical assistance.

Though for the public sector, the sapling will be provided at discounted rates. In the press release, it is clearly mentioned that the sapling being provided by the Forest Department is of high-quality and the plants are also compatible as per the weather of the region.

As per the news sources, in Islamabad, the Federal Government of Pakistan has given their estimation for the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Campaign to cost around PKR 114.61 billion. Nearly 50% of the funds would be provided by the government, whereas the rest of the amount would be generated by the provinces themselves.
