"Ravi City will bring foreign Investment": Imran Amin

“In three to four years, the features of the new city will be clear in which people will have access to modern facilities including education and health,” he said adding RUDA will not snatch any land. He said that foreign investors were also being invited to invest in the first phase of the project. Imran Amin said that work on the project would start in two to three months and it will be completed before the stipulated time. He revealed that three water treatment plants have been approved for the project.

He claimed that the new city will be similar to Dubai and Singapore and would be spread over an area of more than 100,000 acres and its construction would be one of the few masterpieces in the world. Arshad Ansari President Lahore Press Club (LPC), Zahid Ch, Secretary Press Club Lahore, Brig (retd) Mansoor Janjua, Head of Operations, Kashif Qureshi, Head of Marketing and Commercial of RUDA were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Imran further said that the Ravi city project would help a lot in ending unemployment in the country especially in the provincial metropolis. He added that barrages and lakes would be constructed and water treatment plants would be established in the new city to save and purify water.

He revealed that an organised transport system would be introduced to connect the new city with the old city for which new bridges would also be constructed on the river Ravi. ‘Modern industrial area, education city and modern health facilities will be provided in the modern city while modern farming will also be promoted to meet the food needs’.

He said RUDA was working on the fast track and people will automatically start witnessing the usefulness of this mega project after just three years. Referring to the Auditor General's objections to the flood plan, he said, "We have worked on it before the city started. According to the Irrigation Department, if there is a natural calamity on this project, it will control up to 586,000 cusecs. Answering a question that the project will affect the agricultural area of Lahore, Imran Amin said: “We will try to promote farming here with the help of agricultural experts through modern technology”. He informed me that there would be a press club for residential quota.

“It’s encouraging development on the part of Punjab government to give journalists a journalist colony in the project and RUDA will also try to give a quota to journalists after completing rest of the formalities”. President LPC Arshad Ansari on this occasion said that the Ravi Urban Project was a huge project of the government to build a modern city which will create many jobs.

انہوں نے دعوی کیا کہ نیا شہر دبئی اور سنگاپور جیسا ہی ہوگا اور یہ ایک لاکھ ایکڑ سے زیادہ رقبے پر پھیلا ہوگا اور اس کی تعمیر دنیا کے چند شاہکاروں میں سے ایک ہوگی۔ اس موقع پر ارشد انصاری صدر لاہور پریس کلب (ایل پی سی) ، زاہد چوہدری ، سیکرٹری پریس کلب لاہور ، بریگیڈ (ر) منصور جنجوعہ ، ہیڈ آف آپریشنز ، روڈیا کے ہیڈ مارکیٹنگ اینڈ کمرشل کاشف قریشی بھی موجود تھے۔
اس موقع پر عمران نے مزید کہا کہ راوی سٹی پروجیکٹ ملک میں خصوصا صوبائی میٹروپولیس میں بے روزگاری کے خاتمے میں بہت مدد دے گا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ پانی کی بچت اور تزکیہ کے لئے نئے شہر میں بیراج اور جھیلیں تعمیر کی جائیں گی اور واٹر ٹریٹمنٹ پلانٹس لگائے جائیں گے۔
انہوں نے انکشاف کیا کہ نئے شہر کو پرانے شہر سے جوڑنے کے لئے ایک منظم ٹرانسپورٹ سسٹم متعارف کرایا جائے گا جس کے لئے دریائے راوی پر بھی نئے پل تعمیر کیے جائیں گے۔ جدید شہر میں جدید صنعتی علاقے ، تعلیم شہر اور صحت کی جدید سہولیات مہیا کی جائیں گی جبکہ کھانے کی ضروریات کو پورا کرنے کے لئے جدید کاشتکاری کو بھی فروغ دیا جائے گا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ روڈا تیز رفتار راستے پر کام کر رہا ہے اور لوگ صرف تین سال بعد خود بخود اس میگا پروجیکٹ کی افادیت کا مشاہدہ کرنا شروع کردیں گے۔ آڈیٹر جنرل کے سیلاب منصوبے پر ہونے والے اعتراضات کا ذکر کرتے ہوئے ، انہوں نے کہا ، "ہم نے شہر شروع ہونے سے پہلے ہی اس پر کام کیا ہے۔ محکمہ آبپاشی کے مطابق ، اگر اس منصوبے پر کوئی قدرتی آفات پیش آتی ہے تو ، اس سے 586،000 کیوسک تک کا کنٹرول آجائے گا۔" اس سوال سے کہ اس منصوبے سے لاہور کے زرعی رقبے پر اثر پڑے گا ، عمران امین نے کہا: "ہم جدید ٹیکنولوجی کے ذریعہ زرعی ماہرین کی مدد سے یہاں کاشتکاری کو فروغ دینے کی کوشش کریں گے۔" انہوں نے مجھے بتایا کہ رہائشی کوٹے کے لئے پریس کلب ہوگا۔
"یہ منصوبے میں صحافیوں کو صحافی کالونی دینے کے لئے حکومت پنجاب کی جانب سے ترقی کی حوصلہ افزائی کی جارہی ہے اور روڈا دیگر رسمی مراسم مکمل کرنے کے بعد صحافیوں کو بھی کوٹہ دینے کی کوشش کرے گی۔" اس موقع پر صدر ایل پی سی ارشاد انصاری نے کہا کہ راوی اربن پراجیکٹ ایک جدید شہر کی تعمیر کے لئے حکومت کا ایک بہت بڑا منصوبہ تھا جس سے بہت سے روزگار پیدا ہوں گے۔
