New Balakot City Project issues to be addressed: CM

According to the news sources, He held out the assurance as a delegation of Balakot town in Mansehra district called on him. According to the details, the delegation discussed with him numerous matters related to the construction of the Balakot Hydropower Project with a special focus on the issue faced by the local population in this regard.

The delegation was headed by the Special Assistant to CM Ahmad Hussain Shah.

The presenters of this meeting included Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Secretary Energy, and Power Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organisation Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Naeem, Mansehra Deputy Commissioner Adnan Betani, and other officials.  

While directing the meeting chief minister said that all the due rights of the local population affected by the Balakot Hydropower Project would be protected.

He added that all the commitments made to the landowners and local population would be content and their problems addressed on a priority basis.

The chief minister Mahmood Khan assured that upon the completion of the project, a good deal of royalty share would be spent on the wellbeing of the local population whereas the issue of load-shedding in the area would be resolved on a sustainable basis by supplying electricity to Balakot Grid station from Balakot Hydropower Project.

He directed the Energy and Power Department officials to take necessary steps to include leftover houses in the socio-economic survey of the project.

نیوز ذرائع کے مطابق انہوں نے یہ یقین دہانی ضلع مانسہرہ کے قصبہ بالاکوٹ کے وفد سے ملاقات میں کرائی۔ تفصیلات کے مطابق وفد نے ان سے بالاکوٹ ہائیڈرو پاور پراجیکٹ کی تعمیر سے متعلق متعدد امور پر تبادلہ خیال کیا اور اس سلسلے میں مقامی آبادی کو درپیش مسائل پر خصوصی توجہ دی۔
وفد کی سربراہی وزیراعلیٰ کے معاون خصوصی احمد حسین شاہ کر رہے تھے۔
اس اجلاس کو پیش کرنے والوں میں ایڈیشنل چیف سیکرٹری شہاب علی شاہ، سیکرٹری انرجی اینڈ پاور امتیاز حسین شاہ، پختونخوا انرجی ڈویلپمنٹ آرگنائزیشن کے چیف ایگزیکٹو آفیسر محمد نعیم، مانسہرہ کے ڈپٹی کمشنر عدنان بیٹانی اور دیگر حکام شامل تھے۔
اجلاس کو ہدایت کرتے ہوئے وزیراعلیٰ نے کہا کہ بالاکوٹ ہائیڈرو پاور پراجیکٹ سے متاثرہ مقامی آبادی کے تمام حقوق کا تحفظ کیا جائے گا۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ زمینداروں اور مقامی آبادی سے کیے گئے تمام وعدے پورے کیے جائیں گے اور ان کے مسائل کو ترجیحی بنیادوں پر حل کیا جائے گا۔
وزیر اعلیٰ محمود خان نے یقین دلایا کہ منصوبے کی تکمیل پر رائلٹی کا بڑا حصہ مقامی آبادی کی فلاح و بہبود پر خرچ کیا جائے گا جبکہ بالاکوٹ گرڈ کو بجلی کی فراہمی سے علاقے میں لوڈشیڈنگ کا مسئلہ پائیدار بنیادوں پر حل کیا جائے گا۔
انہوں نے محکمہ توانائی اور بجلی کے حکام کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ بچ جانے والے مکانات کو پراجیکٹ کے سماجی و اقتصادی سروے میں شامل کرنے کے لیے ضروری اقدامات کریں۔
