KMC administrator orders early completion of development projects

Barrister Murtaza Wahab, the Karachi administrator, Sindh government spokesperson and adviser to the Sindh chief minister on law, on Thursday held separate meetings with officials of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) finance, law and engineering departments, and issued directions.

In a meeting with officers of the engineering department, the administrator called for the early completion of development programs in the city. He said the objective of infrastructure development was to provide maximum facilities to the citizens.

Wahab directed the officers to pay special attention to the quality of work and give priority to the needs of people. He directed that the development work should be completed within the stipulated time.

The administrator said priority should be given to those projects which could bring more benefits to the citizens. He said that he would also monitor the work to ensure its completion on time.

In the meeting with the KMC's law department, legal issues of the corporation were discussed. Wahab directed officers to pursue the KMC's cases pending in the courts. He said the officers must keep in view the interest of the institution and the city.

Wahab discussed the financial affairs of the KMC during his meeting with officers of the finance department. He stressed the need for putting the financial affairs on better lines.

He also directed the relevant persons to take necessary steps to improve the financial matters of the corporation.

کراچی کے ایڈمنسٹریٹر ، سندھ حکومت کے ترجمان اور وزیراعلیٰ سندھ کے مشیر قانون بیرسٹر مرتضیٰ وہاب نے جمعرات کو کراچی میٹروپولیٹن کارپوریشن (کے ایم سی) کے فنانس ، قانون اور انجینئرنگ کے محکموں کے عہدیداروں سے الگ الگ ملاقاتیں کیں اور ہدایات جاری کیں۔

انجینئرنگ ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے افسران کے ساتھ ایک میٹنگ میں ایڈمنسٹریٹر نے شہر میں ترقیاتی پروگراموں کی جلد تکمیل پر زور دیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بنیادی ڈھانچے کی ترقی کا مقصد شہریوں کو زیادہ سے زیادہ سہولیات فراہم کرنا ہے۔

وہاب نے افسران کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ کام کے معیار پر خصوصی توجہ دیں اور لوگوں کی ضروریات کو ترجیح دیں۔ انہوں نے ہدایت کی کہ ترقیاتی کام مقررہ وقت میں مکمل کیے جائیں۔

ایڈمنسٹریٹر نے کہا کہ ان منصوبوں کو ترجیح دی جانی چاہیے جو شہریوں کو زیادہ فوائد دے سکیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ کام کی نگرانی بھی کریں گے تاکہ اس کی بروقت تکمیل کو یقینی بنایا جا سکے۔

کے ایم سی کے محکمہ قانون کے ساتھ میٹنگ میں کارپوریشن کے قانونی مسائل پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔ وہاب نے افسران کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ کے ایم سی کے مقدمات کو عدالتوں میں زیر سماعت رکھیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ افسران کو ادارے اور شہر کے مفاد کو مدنظر رکھنا چاہیے۔

وہاب نے فنانس ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے افسران سے ملاقات کے دوران کے ایم سی کے مالی معاملات پر تبادلہ خیال کیا۔ انہوں نے مالی معاملات کو بہتر خطوط پر ڈالنے کی ضرورت پر زور دیا۔

انہوں نے متعلقہ افراد کو کارپوریشن کے مالی معاملات کو بہتر بنانے کے لیے ضروری اقدامات کرنے کی بھی ہدایت کی۔
