Completion of the 11 sports complexes missed another deadline

The project, though launched at a fast pace in 2017, has been unable to deliver even a single complex over the years. The project was halted from June to August 2018, and another delay with the elections for the previous government. Later on, the previous government released Rs.1.5 billion more funds for the Rs.5 billion project. The construction work was swiftly proceeding forward at a fast pace until October 2021.

The grey structure of the three complexes has been completed, while the civil work on the remaining eight is currently underway. The lack of funds and labor shortage were blamed to be the major reasons why the project wasn’t being completed on time.

یہ پروجیکٹ، اگرچہ 2017 میں تیز رفتاری سے شروع ہوا، لیکن گزشتہ برسوں میں ایک بھی کمپلیکس فراہم کرنے میں ناکام رہا ہے۔ اس منصوبے کو جون سے اگست 2018 تک روک دیا گیا، اور پچھلی حکومت کے انتخابات کے ساتھ ایک اور تاخیر ہوئی۔ بعد ازاں گزشتہ حکومت نے 5 ارب روپے کے منصوبے کے لیے 1.5 ارب روپے کے مزید فنڈز جاری کیے تھے۔ تعمیراتی کام اکتوبر 2021 تک تیز رفتاری سے آگے بڑھ رہا تھا۔
تینوں کمپلیکس کا گرے سٹرکچر مکمل ہو چکا ہے جبکہ باقی آٹھ پر کام جاری ہے۔ منصوبے کے وقت پر مکمل نہ ہونے کی بڑی وجوہات فنڈز کی کمی اور مزدوروں کی کمی کو قرار دیا
